Rogers Update 4/20/2023
April 20, 2023
Hi Everyone,

In our last Newsletter I talked about God not doing what we want or expect Him to do. Well, He has gone and done it again!  Many of you have been praying for me as I have been preparing to leave for Alaska tomorrow.  I was to be the “keynote” speaker in a state wide fellowship conference in Anchorage and speaking in a couple of the churches in Fairbanks as a bonus.  (The term “state wide” has a lot more meaning in Alaska!)

Things have changed.  The leadership of the conference has prayerfully decided to move the conference from this upcoming week to fall this year (Sometime in October - November).  This decision was based on a multitude of good reasons that have nothing to do with me.  This means I will not be flying up to Alaska tomorrow, but I will be going to Alaska this fall.  The positive in this is I probably will be able to spend more time in Alaska later this year and be in more churches as well as the conference.  Also, Beabea will probably be able to come with me!

Another advantage is this will allow me to start the physical therapy for my neck and back a week earlier, and that is a good thing!  Thank you for your prayers in all of this.  The medicine I am on has really helped so I am very encouraged.

A second prayer request is to pray for our grandson, Isaiah, who fell and hurt his neck.  He developed an infection where he was hurt.  (The doctors state this is not contagious, but it is amazing that I had the same thing in early January.)  Isaiah has been on anti-biotics and steroids and is doing much better – enough to be outside playing and perhaps an occasional misbehaving.  He did have a reaction to the anti-biotic, but he seems to be getting through that okay.  Please keep praying for him.  Grandchildren have a special place in all our hearts!

Well, I guess I will continue to let God figure all this out!  The Lord is smarter than me, and I know you would agree with that!
