Ted and Marlene first met in 1970 while attending a Christian high school. Both were blessed to be raised in strong, God-centered Christian homes. During his high school years, Ted sensed God’s call to ministry. The couple married in 1976, and Ted later graduated from MBBC in 1983. That same year, he accepted the call to pastor his first church. Over the years, he has served in three pastorates and has been faithfully shepherding Calvary Baptist Church in Golden, Colorado, since 2003.
Through his experience serving in small churches, Ted has developed a deep understanding of the importance of fellowship, encouragement, and mutual support among pastors. He recognizes the value of providing opportunities for pastors to step away, rest, and be renewed so they can return strengthened for the work to which God has called them.
Both Ted and Marlene share a heartfelt burden to help meet these needs. Motivated by this calling, they partnered with BEM in 2026 to support pastors, churches, and missionaries across the nation.
